Initial configuration of the Fritzbox 5530 AON
- Connect the Fritzbox to your fibre connection and plug in the power adapter. The LED on the Fritzbox should now flash green.
2. In order to establish a connection to the Fritzbox, it is necessary to use either a LAN or WLAN connection. It is not necessary to have an internet connection.
3. Ideally, the initial configuration should be performed using a PC. Open your browser, such as Google Chrome, and go to http://fritz.box.
4. Select your language: 'English' and confirm by clicking OK.
5. The input screen will open and prompt you to log in.
Enter the password (on the Fritz!Box subpage). Click Login.
6. Then select Switzerland and click Next. Your Fritzbox will now reboot.
7. The login screen for the Fritz!Box opens again. Enter the password (on the Fritz!Box subpage). Then click Login.
8. Deselect the Diagnostics and Maintenance check box and click OK.
9. Then click Start Configuration.
10. Then click Select and choose a other internet service provider. Then click Next to confirm.
11. Select 'No' for 'Access data' if you have not already done so.
11.a) Configuration of Zurich and Winterthur:
No VLAN ID is required in the cities of Zurich and Winterthur. Ignore step 11, click Next and proceed to step 12.
Configuring other Swiss cities:
Scroll down and click Change Connection Configuration.
Click Use VLAN for Internet access and enter VLAN ID 10. Then click Next.
12. If verification is successful, you can click Conclude Step. If you do not have a phone number, click Skip this step and go to step 23.
13. Then click 'Configure New Telephone Number'.
14. In the Telephony provider section, select the Other provider option, then enter your phone number in the two fields. Then scroll down the list.
15. Scroll down to the Account information.
Username: your phone number, for example 0442300000.
Authentication name: your phone number, for example 0442300000.
Password: in the customer account of your fixed line product, in the details (see step 15).
Registrar: box.internetgroup.ch
Proxy server: box.internetgroup.ch
16. Go to www.gigamobile.ch and click on 'Login' to connect to your account.
17. To retrieve your telephone access details, click on 'Services' in your customer account.
18. Then click the three dots next to the product (e.g. Giga Internet S Fiber) to view details.
19. You can recover your password as follows
a) Login: Enter your username and password into the Account information in your Fritzbox.
b) Under Additional information you will find the user (e.g. 044 123 45 67) and password to access your phone data. Enter these in your Fritzbox.
20. Once you have entered all the details in the 'Account information' section, click on 'Additional Settings' (shown in red in the image). Tick the appropriate boxes. Finally, click 'Next' to complete the installation.
21. Then click Next to confirm.
22. The status should turn green (see image). Then click Conclude Step.
23. Then click Conclude Step in the bottom right-hand corner.
24. Click Conclude Step again at the bottom.
25. In the last step of the configuration, the Fritzbox checks if the FritzOS software is up to date. Please do not click Next until the check is complete.
26. Your Fritzbox is now fully configured and ready to use.
